I just arrived from a peaceful demonstration in solidarity with the Palestinian people and against the Israeli massacre and siege in Gaza. Nearly 5000 people showed up in response to the call of Leftist political parties, syndicates and Palestinian and Jew organizations. The demonstration started at Montparnasse and stopped in Front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Although the slogans were not totally homogenous (some were calling for a unity between Fatah and Hamas, others were direct in their support to the Resistance), the demonstration aimed to denounce the Israeli occupation and its policy of ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people. And to denounce also the foreign policy of the Sarkosy government which is totally aligned to the side of Israelis. And to demand the immediate stop of all kind of relations with Israel: economic, military, political and even cultural relations and to kick out the Israeli ambassador.
5000 people marched today in order to declare their support for the Resistance. They chanted: "Resistance.. Resistance... It’s the law of existence"- "we all are Palestinians"- "from Paris to Gaza: Resistance..Resistance"- "Israel assassin, Sarkosy collaborator- Israel assassin, Mubarak collaborator" etc...
Arrived to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the demonstration didn't last more than 45 minutes. The police was present in big numbers. one demonstrator throw his shoe at the police, other demonstrators reacted by saying:" no, keep that for Saturday"...
in fact the big demonstration will be on Saturday at 15h: 00. The demonstration will start at la Place de la Republique and will go to the Israeli embassy...
it will be the first time in my life I demonstrate in front of an Israeli embassy, of course since there is no one in Lebanon,... I don’t know what will be my reaction, ... what I know is that I am full of anger and want to do my best that the Israelis know that
