السفارة الأميركية تعلن إكمال دورة تدريبية للجيش اللبناني: the US embassy trained goons of the Lebanese Army
Posted by Farfahinne at 2:19 AMthe daily Lebanese newspaper: Assafir mentioned today that the lebanese army undergone military training with experts from the US embassy in Lebanon: the US army is a school in itself, Iraq is the example and of course Afghanistan. I know now where did the Lebanese army get its racist strategies of destroying the Naher el Bared Palestinian camp and to kill the poor people in the southern suburb of Beirut who went to the streets to protest against power shortage!! this training is part of the program of working with the Lebanese military that is ongoing and that involves training and equipping.
the Lebanese gov "has asked the United States for $280 million in military assistance to help fight Fatah al-Islam, the Associated Press reported from Washington. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said about $220 million would go to the Lebanese armed forces and $60 million to security forces. He said U.S. officials are weighing the request, which would represent a significant increase over previous years. McCormack said $40 million in equipment and training was sent in 2006 and about $5 million is earmarked for the current year."

اعلنت السفارة الاميركية في بيان وزعته امس ان مجموعة من الضباط في الجيش اللبناني اكملت خلال الأسبوع الماضي، دورة تدريبية تحت عنوان »ادارة المساعدات الأمنية«.
وقالت ان »هذه الدورة التدريبيه، وهي برنامج من عدة برامج تدريب، تزيد من قدرة الجيش اللبناني على الاستخدام الفعال للأنواع المختلفة من المساعدات التي تقدمها حكومة الولايات المتحدة الى الجيش اللبناني«.
واضافت: سوف يساعد هذا البرنامج القيادة في الجيش اللبناني على كيفية ادارة طلباتها الى الولايات المتحدة لمزيد من التدريب والمعدات، وذلك لضمان توفير ما يحتاج اليه لبنان فعلا. ان دعم حكومة الولايات المتحدة للجيش اللبناني هو جزء لا يتجزأ من مجمل المساعدات الاميركية الى لبنان. هذا ومنذ العام ،٢٠٠٦ التزمت الولايات المتحدة بأكثر من ٤١٠ ملايين دولار كمساعدات امنية الى الجيش اللبناني. ان الولايات المتحدة ملتزمة ببناء قدرات الجيش وستواصل تقديم المعدات والتدريب اليه. كما أنها ستواصل تقديم الدعم لحكومة لبنان والجيش فيما يواصلان جهودهما للحفاظ على سلام ووحدة لبنان وسيادته

and by the way on the first anniversary of the Nahr Al-Barid refugee camp's destruction one can only send disrespect to the Lebanese Army, which never showed heroism in the face of occupation or invading armies!
